Introduction
The Surfing Australia Surfer Elite Program (SEP) provides necessary skills development programs to ensure that surfers are given every chance to maximize their potential. The SEP is a joint initiative between Surfing Australia High Performance, the state branches and the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) in the future of Australian surfing.

A tiered approach to athlete development begins at the Regional & State level and provides athlete development pathways through to the National High Performance Training Centre at Casuarina Beach, NSW.

SEP Key Stakeholders
Surfing Australia : Provides structural and logistical management network that facilities the design & implementation of the SEP.
Australian Sports Commission (ASC) Provides Generous funding support over a quadrennial period (4 year Cycle)
State Branches ・Assist in the Management & delivery of specific areas of the program

Aims of the SEP Level 1 Program

- To provide Australia's elite junior surfers with a centralised, camp based program that involves state of the art facilities, coaches and trainers in a supportive, professional environment.

- To provide athlete career development opportunities for Australia's most promising junior surfers in the area's of coaching, training, professional development, travel, media and sponsorship.

- To develop a squad of Australia's best surfers who can potentially represent Australia at pinnacle events and pursue professional careers at the highest level of the sport.

Aims of the SEP Level 2 Program

- To provide identified Australian junior surfers with financial scholarships to access coaching / sports treatment and career development support

- Athletes are provided with a 12-month scholarship, which enables them to access a High Performance coach of their choice, and specific sports treatment services they may require through out the year.

- Selected Level 2 SEP surfers liase with their State HP coordinator to formulate a 12 months training / coaching schedule to meet their specific requirements.

- Once this program has been approved by the National Head Coach the athlete may commence their training program utilizing their scholarship.
